I've been too busy this week to make anything new, so I though I'd showcase myself selling my crafts. :-)

I was fed up of making jewellery this week and decided to paint some shot glasses again. I love painting glass and ceramic; working with these bright colours always cheers me up. And the weather has been dull and miserable, so I really needed the shot of colour.

I haven't shown my crafts online recently, but I intend to do this regularly every week again. I've chosen Fridays, dedicated to the Goddess of Beauty Venus, for this.
I hope you enjoy the pics.

Not really on a creative roll this week, largely because I had my tooth pulled midweek and spent a couple of days bemoaning my misery. However, before this tragic event, I did manage to recycle a few Ovaltine jars I had hanging around. I've put my paintbrushes into one of the smaller ones. I think the larger embellished jar might be nice for some dried flowers if they were in some wacky arrangement.
Craft showcase: mixed media jewellery and suncatchers
Saturday, February 02, 2008 | craft showcase | 0 comments »This week, I've been on a creative roll; writing (this blog) actually increases my craftyness and artyness. I've been interested in mixed media and found object art for a long time now and have made a few assemblage pieces. (They're showcased in the flickr box in the sidebar.) After working on some Valentine's jewellery for my craft stall, I got tired of all the sweetness and decided to go for the meat. These are some of my latest mixed media jewellery pieces:
Also made some suncatchers out of pieces of broken window glass. I have louvred windows and someone smashed one and fished my handbag out through the burglar bars. I decided I needed to get something good out of this and turned my anger into creative energy. Hey presto, the suncatchers were born! They should bring some posivitive vibes...
Every Saturday, I'll be posting some of the arts and crafts I make during the week. (Just to prove I don't spend ALL my time in front of the computer.)
This week I made jewellery; some pieces are shown below. I found a whole lot of wonderful shell and coconut beads in the one and only craft supplies shop on the island, which is usually as empty as my bank account and was really inspired to create these "island-style" pieces of jewellery. I then spent hours trying to photograph my creations, with some success in the end. I had no idea it was so difficult to photograph jewellery.
Rolling on this wave of success, I decided to open a shop on Dawanda und upload all my new products for sale. Please don't feel inhibited to visit my shop and buy :-). Or just look; there are more pieces there. You'll find the shop link in the sidebar as well.
