Steve Pavlina suggest to "prove to the universe that you're willing to receive the small package with love and gratitude, and bigger opportunities will soon follow" in his article How to Earn Your First Love Dollar. It's an intriguing idea and I'm going to try it.
Many seekers on the road to higher consciousness will pass through the Dark Night of the Soul. This is a good indepth description of what to expect.

It seems that your first link is not working. The title is pretty attractive and I tried to click on it to read it but the link doesn't seem to work. The second article has an interesting concept that is very worth giving it a shot! This is where the action comes in :)
